fine art and garden curation are, at its best, natural, intuitive, regional, and grounded in seasonal offerings.

Flowers were my first medium as a young artist. Growing up in Alaska, I spent a lot of time on my grandparents’ homestead in Anchorage and then later on their gentleman's farm in the Matanuska Valley gathering crabapple branches, wild roses and flowers into little bouquets that I left on the ledges, counters, and tables of my grandmother’s house. Alaska’s raw and wild landscape enriched my idea of beauty and freeness, qualities expressed through the open and untamed elements of my garden designs and artistry today.

My evolution as an artist has included expressions in painting, interior design, and landscape design. The thread running through my art speaks to my close relationship with nature. I’ve collected and ground mineral pigments from the earth to make my own paints. I’ve designed spaces that blur the line between inside and out, human and nature-made. In my garden design work, I’ve designed spaces for resting and recharging surrounded with the abundance and solace of the natural world.

Working and understanding both the tangible and intangible qualities of trees, plants and flowers has been a lifelong passion of mine. Flowers carry a high vibrational energy, embodying joy, ease, and happiness. Without words, they speak in a language all their own, one of wild abandon and delight in life itself. When we surround ourselves with flowers, both in our garden spaces and within our homes, we tap into that innate awe and wonder of being alive.

We layer our own meanings onto gifts of flowers and the spaces in which we grow them, using them to honor, celebrate, and care for each other at life’s many thresholds. These layers of intrinsic meaning overlaid with the giver’s intention make an offering of flowers the beautiful, meaningful gesture.

Garden curation is, at its best, natural, intuitive, regional, and grounded in seasonal offerings. These qualities guide me as I bring my artistry to my clients’ gardens and homes. I curate and implement floral and food garden designs and provide table styling services using an array of seasonal flora from herbs, fruiting branches and roses for small private or home-based events. I look forward to bringing the magic I have gathered into Danis Morgan to elevate your home and garden.
